Clara Slaughter
- Hip-Hop -
Clara Slaughter, a.k.a. "Smooth," was raised in the boondocks of
Longview Texas. "Go Pirates!" She is a wife and the mother of two
"totally awesome" young men and a very ‘precocious’ young girl.
Clara is known for her spontaneous personality and her love for the
human soul. Clara grew up in a Pentecostal church where dancing
was not allowed -so she entered every talent show and dance
competition known to man and was known for her "smooth"
techniques. "I believe that if hip-hop or dancing in general was a sin, I
would have gotten caught." "Hip hop has always been a way of
escape for me from the cares of this world." "God has given this gift
to me so that I can give it back to Him as a witness to the young and
to the old. To the young because "it’s not a sin to dance and have
fun." To the old because "it’s not to late to dance and have fun."
"There are many different preparations of fish, such as fried fish, tuna
fish, salmon crochet, sushi, etc." "I think of hip-hop as a ‘fish and chip’
basket-"you get two for the price of one!" Though certain types of fish
are not for everybody, it is for somebody!" Clara is currently a full time
student at Tarrant County College where she is on the Deans List and
is a member of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. She is working
towards her Associate of Arts and Business degree. Her goal is to
transfer to Texas Wesleyan University where she plans on graduating
with her Masters Degree in Business.
