"ALIVE" Dance Conference 2015 @ MegaFest   FAQ Page

•        The dance conference will be held at the Black Academy of Arts & Letters Cultural Center. Dallas Convention Center, 650      
South Griffin St, Dallas.

•        The Dance Conference will be Thursday August 20th through Saturday August 22nd from 10am-5pm. With a grand finale
presentation Sunday august 23rd.

•        The registration price is $65 per person.

•        All the evenings are sessions are for participants to enjoy the different classes megafest has to offer.

Dance CLASSES OFFERED

Mickye Castillo - Host - Dancing with Props /  Choreography Techniques /

Destiney Peters  -  Modern / Ballet

Keith Clark - Jazz / Hip Hop Fusion

Tywii Atkins  -  Flag Choreography

Tiffany Hall  -  West African / Contemporary

All breakout sessions will be taught at the same time and then everyone rotates to the next instructor until everyone has had an
opportunity to learn from all the instructors.

The General Sessions will focus on choreography, storytelling through movement, garment ideas, biblical teaching and group
exercises. We will also have a Q&A and panel discussion with all the instructors. These sessions are very interactive with the
audience.

If you are not participating in the Grand Finale on Sunday morning you can still participate in these sessions. Everyone can learn
the Grand Finale Choreography.

Each instructor will help develop you in technique training, choreography drills, stage presence, body awareness exercises and
much more.

Our goal is to impart creative thinking, choreography insight, and to ignite and stir up the gift within each participant. We hope that
God will open your heart for a deeper passion and higher level of excellence to preach the gospel through dance and movement!

1.When, Where and How Much?
Start Time:  Thursday August 20th at 10AM. - Sunday August 23rd .
Dallas County Convention Center: 650 S. Griffin St  Dallas, TX 75202 (The Black Academy Of Arts And Letters)
     
2.  What is the conference schedule?
The schedule WILL BE posted on the bottom of this page.

3.  What do you wear?
All participants will need to dress comfortably, such as workout clothes. (Please no shorts or spaghetti strapped tops)

4.  Do I bring dance garments?
Yes, please bring dance attire. But for the finale presentation please wear all black.

5.  What is the age limit?
Ages 13 and up. For all ages 13 to 17 you will need to assign 1 chaperone per 5 minors. The chaperone an adult dancer who stays
with them the entire time and rotates the classes all together.

6.  Will I get to dance during service?
Yes, all participants will have the opportunity to dance during the Sunday morning service  for Megafest Sunday. We will learn a
grand finale dance to be ministered before the preaching of the word!!!! (Please bring BLACK dance garments for this presentation)

7.  Will there be food or any kind of refreshments?
Please feel free to bring refreshments such as water, granola bars, etc…. Lunch will NOT be provided this year. There are eating
areas throughout the Megafest facility to each lunch.

8.  Will there be product available to purchase? (such as, instructional videos, garments, streamers, flags, billows, veils, ribbons,
tambourines, instructional manual for dance, etc…..)
Yes, there will be many different vendors with product in the lobby and available for purchase.

9.  When is the conference over?
The conference is officially over Saturday at 5pm…..However we will dance the grand finale presentation Sunday.

10.  Do we dance barefoot or in shoes?
Please bring dance shoes/ preferably black.

11.  Will the classes or services be videotaped?
NO, the only thing that will be recorded is the Sunday morning presentation. YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO VIDEO TAPE ANY
PART OF THE CONFERENCE INCLUDING THE SUNDAY MORNING PRESENTATION.

12.  Can I get a copy of the grand finale DVD?
This is a possibility, however I will need to get back with you on this as this will be done by the church.

13.  Is the conference within walking distance from hotels and restaurants?
Yes, the conference this year will be in downtown Dallas.

14.  Is there a discount for groups?
No

15. There will not be a separate class for the teenagers. All participants 13 and up will rotate the same classes all together.
